The Hendrickson Mayfly, Ephemerella subvaria, is one of the earliest and most abundant Mayfly Hatches. Males, slightly smaller in stature, have more pinkish brown bodies, lighter colored legs, and darker wings, tending toward a slate gray. 
Hendrickson Duns generally emerge in mid-afternoon when temperatures are ideal, but can also hatch during miserable cold and wet weather.
